Frequently Asked Questions

Is Simple Way Care health insurance?

No, it is not. It is a membership based model of primary care where our physician provides the patient with ongoing primary care services  and the patient pays a low monthly fee.

Do you accept and/or bill insurance?

We will not file any claims against the patient's health insurance policy for reimbursement of any primary care services rendered by our physician. However, our Direct Primary Care plan can benefit patients with or without insurance, including high deductible health plans, (HDHP). Pairing an HDHP plan with a DPC provides an answer to the uncovered medical care under the deductible.

Am I going to avoid the Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax penalty if I become a member?
No, our Direct Primary Care does not meet the minimum essential coverage (MEC) required under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to avoid tax penalties. Nevertheless, when DPC is paired with a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), ACA allows this to meet the minimum requirement to avoid tax penalties.

Can I be a member if I have any pre-existing conditions?
Yes, participation in our Direct Primary Care program is not based on pre-existing conditions or health status. Moreover, our monthly fees are the same for all patients regardless of their prior health history.

What distinguishes Direct Primary Care from other forms of primary care practices?
Direct Primary Care is known by some as "Concierge Medicine for the Masses". For less than two dollars a day, we provide concierge  level of care in a true patient centered medical setting. At Simple Way Care, you will be treated with respect and special care, receiving same or next day appointments, non-rushed extended visits, coordination of referrals, and timely mannered communication with your physician and staff. When you schedule a visit with us, you will always be seen by your doctor who works directly for you and is not concerned about billing or administrative issues.  Your doctor at Simple Way Care can focus on what is more important: your health.

Do you cover hospitalization?
No, for hospital care coverage, we recommend you obtain a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP).

Is chronic pain management a covered service?

No, chronic pain is best treated by a pain management specialist who is trained in this medical field. We can assist you with a coordination of a referral to a pain management specialist based on your need.

How are referrals to specialists, labs and/or an imaging studies handled?
